Job description
Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) performs highway maintenance services in the Prince George & surrounding area. We are seeking an Automotive Red Seal and/or Apprentice Mechanic with related experience. This job provides a stable and rewarding work opportunity in the construction industry.
The seasonal nature of the industry offers variation in repair through the course of the year. The spectrum of work includes diagnosing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing light duty pickups, electrical sign equipment and retail fleet services. We are seeking a hard-working individual with a positive attitude and a strong problem-solving ability. Benefits and extended health coverage are available after the probationary period.
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Commercial Automotive Red Seal certificate, or Apprenticeship enrollment
- Minimum 2 years work experience in the industry
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices, and ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to work on afternoon shift on a rotational basis
- Able to respond to service calls in all types of weather conditions
Ability and Skills:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical components
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to troubleshoot reported issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance and accurately record/document completed repairs

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $27.18 to $33.97 per hour / based on Red Seal status

passion for road maintenance? Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Vanderhoof) is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator
to join our team in Fort St. James!
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
- Class 5 License at minimum (Class 1 preferred)
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery in road maintenance projects
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including Wheel Loaders, Packers, Graders, and Excavators
- Proficiency in performing routine maintenance on machinery
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations

Job description
Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Vanderhoof) is seeking an experienced and ambitious Red Seal Carpenter to join their Bridge Crew. Under the direction of the Bridge Superintendent, a successful applicant will be required to perform routine labor work in connection with maintenance, construction and re-construction of all types of bridges and structures. Typical duties will include bridge deck repair, concrete work, linseed oil application, bridge washing and working on various construction projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team, contribute to essential infrastructure projects, and develop your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
- Class 5 License at minimum (Class 3 or 1 preferred; YRB can offer in-house Class 3 training).
- Preference will be given to applicant with Red Seal Carpenter certification.
- Prior experience in bridge construction, maintenance, and repair is an asset.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Geographical knowledge of the local area is an asset.
