Job description
Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) performs highway maintenance services in the Prince George & surrounding area. We are seeking a Warehouse/Parts Technician with related experience. This job provides a stable and rewarding work opportunity in the construction & maintenance industry.
The seasonal nature of the industry offers variation through the course of the year. The spectrum of work will include sourcing parts for light duty pickups, trailers, commercial vehicles, wheel loaders, graders, excavators and other construction equipment. The job will also require sourcing seasonal wear components including, but not limited to, brooms/wafers, blades, and fasteners. We are seeking a hard-working individual with a positive attitude and a strong problem-solving ability. Benefits, extended health coverage and ownership opportunities are available after the probationary period.
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Commercial Red Seal Parts Technician certificate, or Apprenticeship enrollment
- Minimum 2 years work experience in the industry
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices, and ability to read and follow instructions
Ability and Skills:
- Identify and source parts for various models and types of equipment
- Organizational skills to maintain appropriate supply of parts and materials
- Ability to maintain records for orders, shipments, returns and inventory
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment

Salary: $33.30 to $34.21 per hour, as determined by previous experience

The seasonal nature of the industry offers variation in repair through the course of the year. The spectrum of work includes diagnosing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing light duty pickups, electrical sign equipment and retail fleet services. We are seeking a hard-working individual with a positive attitude and a strong problem-solving ability. Benefits and extended health coverage are available after the probationary period.
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Commercial Automotive Red Seal certificate, or Apprenticeship enrollment
- Minimum 2 years work experience in the industry
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices, and ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to work on afternoon shift on a rotational basis
- Able to respond to service calls in all types of weather conditions
Ability and Skills:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical components
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to troubleshoot reported issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance and accurately record/document completed repairs

Are you an expert in heavy truck operation with a
passion for road maintenance? Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Vanderhoof) is seeking a skilled Machine Operator
to join our team in Fort St. James!
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
- Class 1 License
- Proven experience operating dump trucks in road maintenance projects
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including Wheel Loaders, Packers, Graders, and Excavators a plus
- Proficiency in performing routine maintenance on machinery
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations
